Biju leads the Health and Education investment team for the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in Sub Saharan Africa. In this role he is responsible for leading new investments for IFC in Health and Education companies in the region, managing existing investments in these sectors and for leading and developing a team of investment professionals. International Finance Corporation is one of the largest multilateral investors in Healthcare and Education sectors in the emerging markets and manages a c. $250 Million portfolio in these sectors in Sub Saharan Africa.
Biju has over 15 years of operating and investing experience across multiple frontier and emerging markets in India and Africa. His investment experience includes equity, quasi equity and debt transactions, distressed asset turnarounds and PPPs in healthcare, education, agribusiness and renewable energy sectors. Before IFC, Biju was the East Africa Director of Acumen fund and was responsible for their East Africa related investments, operations and business development activities. He has an MBA from the Indian School of Business majoring in Analytical Finance and also served in the Indian Army.
